Because the Mohawk Hudson River Marathon and Hannaford Supermarkets Half Marathon is a point-to-point course, complimentary bus transportation will be available to all participants from downtown Albany (near the host hotel and finish line area) to the start of each race. Bus departure begins at 6:15AM with last bus at 7:00AM. Reservations can be made when you register for the race.
Parking is extremely limited at Colonie Town Park, so we encourage runners of the Hannaford Supermarkets Half Marathon to use the bus from downtown Albany, if possible.
Additionally, there is a bus back to the start lines from the finish area. The bus back to Central Park in Schenectady (the marathon start) leaves at 2:00PM, and the bus back to Colonie Town Park in Cohoes (the Hannaford Supermarkets Half Marathon start) leaves at 12:00PM. No reservation is necessary for the return buses.
A room block has been set aside for race participants, family, and friends at the Hilton Albany. The block rate is $154.00 per night and is subject to availability at the time of request.
The Hilton is located at 40 Lodge Street in Albany, and is a short walk from the expo, finish line, and buses to the start. See the hotel on Google Maps here.
Use group code 5RUN19 when booking to get the block rate. Rooms fill quickly, so reserve your room early!
Public parking is available at the Riverfront Garage. The garage is pre-pay, cash only—$5.00 per vehicle.
If parking in Colonie Town Park, please arrive early. There is no roadside parking on Schermerhorn Road—vehicles parked on the road will be towed and ticketed. We encourage participants to carpool to Colonie Town Park, or use the free buses from Albany.
Those who are parking in Schenectady Central Park should do so where Golf Road and Fehr Avenue cross. Again, please do not park on the road.
Participants can check a bag at the start of both races that will be transported to the finish area. If you plan to check a bag, our clear plastic bag (distributed at the expo) must be used. All other bags will not be accepted NO EXCEPTIONS. Please make sure that your bib number, name, and a contact number is visible on the bag. Tags for the clear bag are provided on your race bib.
